Waarom die Epic Twee as een van Suid-Afrika se voorste sports-skiet luggewere uitstaan

Ek het onlangs by Patriot ’n Epic Twee 700 mm PCP-luggeweer gekoop, en ek wil net laat weet hoe tevrede ek is met die aankoop. Ek het al ander, baie bekende PCP luggeweer handelsmerke besit, maar die verskil vir my lê in die Epic Twee se uitstaande bougehalte. Die afwerking is puik — ek sal sê militêre standaard, as dit nie beter is nie.

Hy is ’n bietjie swaarder as die norm, maar op ’n goeie manier — stewig en vol vertroue. Hy voel goed in die skouer; nie te swaar nie, net gemaklik — en hy gee daardie soliede gevoel wanneer jy oor skietstokke of van ’n rus af skiet.

Die opvoubare kolf werk uitstekend. Met die kolf opgevou is hy sowat 97 cm lank— net onder een meter — dus lekker kompak. Vir vervoer pas hy maklik in ’n motor se kattebak; jy het beslis nie ’n bakkie nodig nie.

Die geweer “tune” ongelooflik maklik. Met my vorige model, van ’n ander vervaardiger, was ek altyd huiwerig om self te verstel — ek het dit eerder winkel toe gestuur vir fyn instelwerk. Hulle was baie presies, en selfs ’n klein temperatuurverskil het beteken ons moes weer verstel. Sonder ’n chronograaf of eie skietbaan was dit maar ’n gedoente.
Met die Epic Twee het ek egter by die skietbaan gaan sit, en binne sowat 45 minute het ek hom ingestel om 3-skootgroepe op 150 meter te skiet. Die proses is regtig eenvoudig — baie gebruikersvriendelik — en enigeen met ’n bietjie geduld kan dit doen.

Hy kom in ’n stewige dra-tas, wat ek waardeer vir beskerming tydens vervoer. Die CZ-loop gee vir hom uitstekende stabiliteit; hy is styf en konsekwent — wat natuurlik bydra tot sy akkuraatheid.

Ek het ’n slug gekies en die geweer daarvolgens ingestel, en ek glo jy kan feitlik enige projektiel fyn instel vir goeie presisie. Soos die meeste PCP’s luggewere het hy natuurlik sy voorkeure, maar jy kan met bietjie moeite amper enige projektiel laat werk.

Die aksie is besonder glad — beslis gladder as vorige modelle wat ek besit het. Partykeer merk jy skaars dat ’n patroon gelaai is. Die cocking-lever voel positief en presies, en een van die groot hoogtepunte is die sneller. Dit is fantasties — lig, skerp en maklik om verstel. Binne sowat 10 minute, met net ’n paar stukkies gereedskap, het ek dit perfek na my smaak gestel.

Ek gebruik tans die Epic Twee vir veldskiet tot 150 meter, en die resultate is uitstekend. Ek het al twee kompetisies geskiet en 3-skootgroepe op 40 meter vanuit ’n staande posisie oor skietstokke geskiet — die akkuraatheid is beslis daar. Hy is ook meer vergewensgesind as my vorige gewere, en die stewige gewig help beslis. Met die teleskoop op weeg hy sowat 5,6 kg, wat vir ’n mooi gebalanseerde gevoel in die skouer sorg.

Oor die algemeen presteer die Epic Twee 700 mm PCP -luggeweer uitstekend, of jy nou van die bank af skiet, in die veld of op ‘n jag is.

Customer Review: Epic Two 700 mm PCP Airgun from Patriot

I recently bought an Epic Two 700 mm PCP Airgun from Patriot, and I wanted to share how pleased I am with the purchase. I’ve owned other well-known PCP Airgun brands before, but the difference here is the Epic Two’s exceptional build quality. The finish is excellent — I’d even call it military grade, if not better.

It’s slightly heavier than average, but in a good way — solid and confidence-inspiring. It sits comfortably in the shoulder, perfectly balanced, and feels rock-steady whether shooting off sticks or from a rest.

The folding stock works brilliantly. Folded, the rifle measures about 97 cm (just under a meter), so it’s compact enough to fit easily into a car’s boot — no bakkie required.
Tuning is remarkably easy. With my previous rifle, I was always hesitant to make adjustments — I’d send it in for tuning because even a small temperature change could throw things off. Without a chronograph or proper setup, that became a hassle. With the Epic Two Airgun, however, I sat down at the range and within about 45 minutes had it tuned to shoot consistent 3-shot groups at 150 m. The process is genuinely straightforward — very user-friendly — and something anyone can manage.
It ships in a sturdy carry case, which I appreciate for protection during transport. The CZ barrel gives it excellent rigidity and consistency, translating directly into accuracy.
I chose a slug and tuned around it, and I’m convinced you can dial in just about any projectile with a bit of effort. Like most PCPs air rifles, it has its preferences, but the tuning flexibility is impressive — something that makes it ideal for both competitive long range airgun shooting and hunting.

The action is exceptionally smooth — smoother than previous models I’ve owned. Sometimes you barely notice the round chambering. The cocking lever feels positive and precise, and one of the true highlights is the trigger. It’s fantastic — light, crisp, and easy to adjust. Within 10 minutes and a few hex keys, I had it set exactly how I like it.
I’m currently using the Epic Two for field shooting out to 150 m, and the results have been outstanding. I’ve shot two competitions so far and managed 3-shot groups at 40 m from a standing position over sticks — the accuracy is definitely there. It’s also more forgiving than my previous rifles, and that solid weight helps. With the rifle scope mounted, it comes in at around 5.6 kg, which gives it a great, stable feel in the shoulder.

Overall, the Epic Two 700 mm PCP Airgun performs beautifully in the field and on the bench. I’ve used it for both competition and hunting, and it continues to impress.
