FX Airguns are always thinking about improving their airguns

So with the new year starting, we will look into the latest three models that FX Airguns released in 2020. These three guns are now the “talk of the town,” and we will have a closer look at them. We will look closer at the design, functionality, and what they can deliver to us as airgunners.

Let’s start from the top with airgun royalty, the new “Crown MKII.”

FX Airguns are always thinking about improving their airguns and taking them to the next level. The latest improvements to the new released FX Crown MKII resulted from the massive demand for high power shooting. The FX Crown MKII brings more power and even more capabilities to an already near-perfect platform.

So how did FX Airguns still manage to improve on the previous version called the Continuum?

To increase the power, you have to look into a combination of valving, porting, and plenum space. The plenum of the FX Crown MKII has increased by 28% over the previous model! This larger plenum (the chamber of compressed air located before the transfer port) works in tandem with the porting and the new larger valve on the MKII (6.5mm valve). The combination of these three changes makes this now an all-new powerhouse!

For FX Airguns, the power upgrades were not enough, and they took it a few steps further. A built-in 20 MOA angle into the Picatinny scope rail is also a new feature, enabling airgunners to shoot longer distances. The canting of the scope base at the front allows for more usable elevation adjustment in longer distances.

The new FX Crown MKII has some new stock options added to the already stunning stock line up. FX Airguns has teamed up with the famed Norwegian rifle stock maker GRS and recently launched a first of its kind, the Crown MKII GRS Green Mountain Laminate! GRS builds highly adjustable laminate stocks recognized globally as an innovative premium brand. The GRS Crown stocks are dedicated right or left-handed with the famed GRS ergonomic grip. The GRS grip, offset and angled, provides unsurpassed shooting comfort. They feature tool-less push-button adjustments for both cheek piece and length of pull—everything to tailor-fit your shooting experience.

The FX Crown MKII is also now offered as a stripped-down base model perfect for pairing with the newly released Saber Tactical Crown Chassis. This ambidextrous chassis is packed with features, including an extended Arca Swiss rail, foldable stock, built-in detachable bag rider, adjustable buttstock, and other popular features. FX Crown MKII will undoubtedly be a highly popular and sought-after Crown configuration, particularly for bench shooters.

The new Crown MKII is a force to be reckoned with and will make any airgunner proud to own one, but what about the new kid on the block??

Introducing the new FX MAVERICK

The FX Maverick is a brand-new platform for FX Airguns. This is a rifle purpose-built with one thing in mind: “heavier pellet and slug shooting!” We know that slugs are taking the airgun world by storm, and it is fast becoming the most popular projectile to shoot amongst airgunners. FX Airguns has put this thought first and made the largest power plenum yet on an FX rifle.

“But a plenum needs a good regulator….or two?” Yes, you have read it correctly – the latest FX innovation, dual regulators!

The Dual FX AMP Regulators are brilliant in the thought behind it how it will function. The first regulator pre-reduces the pressure in preparation for the second regulator. This reduces stress on the second regulator and achieves a more constant output pressure with fewer standard deviations. Brilliant thinking by FX Airguns and they hit this one out of the park.

Both AMP Regulators can be adjusted externally, and there is a small learning curve to this all-new system. When making the regulators’ adjustments, you should keep both in harmony (maintaining a 30-40 BAR difference between the 1st & 2nd regulator). This method has been tested and implemented as the best way to keep this system working at its best. The Dual Regulators work hand in hand with the large 89cc Power Plenum. This large plenum, paired proportionately with the correct porting and valving, allows for a more consistent working pressure to be delivered.

You can now even step it up and get yourself an FX Maverick Slug Power Kit. This kit includes heavier hammer and slug pin probes that allow for even more power and velocities for heavier projectiles. The Maverick utilizes the same rear power adjuster that was first introduced with the FX Wildcat MKIII. This breakthrough hammer adjuster allows for both micro and macro adjustments using the same dial, enabling the Maverick to be fully adjusted in harmony with the Dual AMP Regulators for the chosen caliber and projectile.
More good news: With this new FX Maverick you will get the new Superior STX Standard liners. This means you can now shoot pellets, hybrid slugs, and lighter weight slugs all with one-liner! Additional liners are also available to tailor to different projectiles like shooting heavier slugs and pellets.

The Maverick has a more tactical body, which will allow for aftermarket components to be added for further customization. You can now add some of your favorite aftermarket parts like the Saber Tactical adjustable bud stock and bag rider. The bag riders from Saber Tactical can also be added for extra support on the bench.

THE MAVERICK WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THREE VERSIONS.

The Compact comes with a 300cc carbon fiber bottle, The Sniper with a 580cc carbon fiber bottle, and The VP (Value Priced) paired with a 400cc aluminum bottle, “available on request”.

All Mavericks have 20 MOA built into the Picatinny scope rail as well, and now you can stretch the legs on this gun for some long-range shooting.

With the Maverick, you will see a lot of new features from the newly released Wildcat MKIII.

The new FX Wildcat MKIII enhances its legacy as it updates this coveted platform for the modern air gunner. The previous two models were a huge success and were among the most popular selling airguns worldwide. So what did they do differently on this latest model?

The improvements start inside the Wildcat’s main block. The engineering into the new Wildcat block pushes the boundaries of what can be accomplished with precision CNC engineering from FX Airguns. The most significant new power feature is designed around the new rear power adjuster. This power adjuster is a breakthrough as it allows for both micro and macro adjustments using the same dial to the hammer spring. The rear power adjuster has seven presets for your hammer. Still, the actual hammer tension can be adjusted more fully higher or lower using an Allen wrench through a hole found on the adjuster’s 8th position. This allows the Wildcat hammer to be fully adjusted in harmony with the AMP regulator to allow for the full range of adjustability found in other FX rifles like the FX Impact & FX Crown.

Because the FX Impact, Crown, and Dreamline range were so popular with caliber changes, FX Airguns decided that they will bring this system into the new Wildcat version as well. You can now change barrel systems and calibers on the fly like the other FX Airgun range models. Additional barrel kits will be available.

The Wildcat MKIII also includes an upgrade to its magazine system, and now you can enjoy more shots per magazine with the new side shot high capacity magazines. No longer restrained to 8 shots, the Wildcat MKIII now more than doubles its shots using the FX Side-Shot magazine (the same magazines as found on the FX Crown and FX Dreamline).

A new Picatinny scope rail is now standard on the Wildcat MKIII, another new Wildcat feature. This rail makes it easy to swop out your scopes between FX guns and gives you the full range of dialing with your scope. This system works very well with the new Element Optics scope range. It is also worth knowing that as the Maverick, the new Wildcat MKIII rifles and barrel kits will ship with FX’s recently released new Superior STX Barrel Liners. Perfect for shooting heavier pellets and slugs!

The already impressive Dreamline range from FX Airguns just got better, introducing the all-new FX Dreamline GRS

The GRS stock range is trendy amongst huntsmen and professional marksmen in South Africa for the firearms industry. You are almost sure to spot a GRS stock on branded dealers’ shelves. Because it is so popular and loved by shooters, the Patriot team decided to implement it to their airgun range from FX Airguns. The idea was handed over to the innovative team from FX Airguns, and a legend was born.

FX Airguns then teamed up with famed Norwegian rifle stock maker GRS to provide a stock for their airguns. GRS is famous for building highly adjustable laminate stocks, and is recognized globally as an innovative premium brand. GRS has believed that the phrase” one size fits all” does not apply to rifle stocks. – If your stock does not fit you, you will not shoot accurately. Period!

The GRS stock used for the Dreamline base is the all famous GRS Sporter. This version is the grandfather of all the stocks in the GRS line up. The GRS Sporter stock has a wide range of features to accommodate a wide range of shooting styles.

The Butt-stock shape is ideal for using a rear bag, excelling at prone shooting. The lowered forearm makes a steady platform whenever you’re shooting while standing. Tool-less adjustments for length of pull and cheek height, via the Speedlock adjustment system, make a proper fit precise and straightforward. A broader forend makes it better for use with bipods. The GRS Dreamline stocks are famed for the GRS ergonomic grip. The GRS grip, offset and angled, provides unsurpassed shooting comfort. Everything to tailor-fit your shooting experience.

The GRS stock is perfect for Hunters and competitors in NRL and PRS style of shooting. It is also an ideal training rifle for outdoor shooting. Other features to this addition are the revolutionary world-class FX Smooth Twist X barrel system (STX). The new Dreamline range is now fitted with the all-new Superior liners as standard and is perfect for pellets and lightweight slug shooting. This is the same barrel housing and liner system found on other elite rifles such as the FX Impact, FX Crown, and FX Wildcat.

The STX barrel allows the Dreamline the unique ability to change both the caliber of the gun and the inner liner of the barrel to allow for different twist rates and other bore specifications. This provides a tailored barrel to meet the vast array of projectiles available today.

The all-new GRS stock and the highly versatile quality action of the Dreamline classic makes this rifle setup the ultimate in the Dreamline rifle setup to have.
